We lost count how many times we had to refill our traditional jars with liquorice cream rock sweets.  They flew off the shelves.

Liquorice Cream Rock

Unlike their name Liquorice cream rock, they are not hard sweets like rock,  it’s soft black liquorice rolled around a  delicious fondant centre.  These can also be found in your bag of Liquorice Allsorts though only with a white centre not the other colours of pink and yellow.. Why is this I wonder?

LIQUORICE HISTORY

Liquorice as we know has been around for a long time  generous supplies were actually found in Emperor King Tut’s tomb, and Egyption hieroglyphics record the use of Liquorice in a popular beverage that the men drank in days when the bible was still be written.

During the extraction of the liquorice juices the Liquorice root was not used and was burnt , but apparently a new use has been found for the root and it is being utilized  for the manufacturing of boards for making boxes.
